Title 24 lighting acceptance testing

Lighting controls field testing and NRCA paperwork for nonresidential projects. Everything your inspector needs to sign off.

What we test on site

California Title 24, Part 6 requires field verification that installed lighting controls operate correctly before a nonresidential project can receive final approval. As a NLCAA-certified Acceptance Test Technician, I perform on-site Title 24 acceptance testing per Reference Nonresidential Appendix NA7.6 procedures.

Title 24 paperwork you get

Every project includes the compliance documentation your inspector and the CEC require:

  • NRCA acceptance certificates — completed, signed PDF copies for your records and city submittal
  • NRCI install form coordination — prepared when required; installing contractor signs as responsible person
  • Electronic submission to the CEC — via NLCAA acceptance testing software with provider-branded forms
  • San Francisco Final Compliance Letter — when required by DBI for Certificate of Occupancy

Third-party Title 24 testing

Mesa Construction, Inc. is registered as a third-party Acceptance Test Employer (ATE #ATE-2608-00005). Electrical contractors hire us for independent verification — no conflict with the installing contractor's role. You get clean NRCA sign-off from a certified ATT who shows up, tests, and delivers forms fast.

Who this is for

  • Commercial tenant improvements (TI)
  • Retail, restaurant, and office build-outs
  • Warehouses and industrial facilities
  • New construction with nonresidential lighting controls
  • Alterations where lighting controls are added (more than 20 luminaires)

We serve contractors across the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento. See city-specific info for San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose.

What's not included

We specialize in Title 24 lighting controls acceptance testing only — not mechanical/HVAC acceptance testing, not general energy consulting, and not lighting installation or programming corrections beyond identifying what needs to be fixed for re-test.
